Shoreline Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Taskforce
The Shoreline Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Task Force is a collaboration of informed professionals whose mission is to provide education, coordinate resources and aid in the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault to communities along the Shoreline.

SUPPORT SURVIORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE WITH SWEATSUITS AND SOCKS!
The Shoreline Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Taskforce is hosting a donation drive on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Guilford Community Center (32 Church Street, Guilford) from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm in support of the Women and Families Center Sexual Assault Crisis Services. Taskforce members will be available to collect your donations and provide inforation about services available in your Shoreline Community.
Donations of new adult sweatshirts, new adult sweatpants, new socks, and new, travel-size, non-alcohol and unscented personal care items (i.e. mouthwash and lotion) are being requested. Items for both adult women and adult men in all sizes are needed. These donated items will be put in Care Kits distributed by crisis counselors working in local emergency rooms to survivors of sexual violence after they receive medical treatment.

Sexual assault is forced or threatened sexual intercourse or sexual contact. This includes rape, date rape, incest, child molestation, attempted rape, forced oral sex, spousal/cohabitating rape, sexual harassment, exhibitionism (flashing), voyeurism (peeping tom), forced exposure to pornographic material, and obscene phone calls.
• Nearly 1 in 5 Connecticut residents (19%) has experienced a sexual assault in their lifetime.
• One in four (26%) Connecticut women are sexual assault survivors.
• Ten percent of Connecticut men are sexual assault survivors.
